The expansion comes as antitrust disputes and regulatory investigations become increasingly centered on digital platforms, labor markets and healthcare economics. According to a statement, the appointments are intended to strengthen the firm’s ability to advise clients on complex competition, litigation and regulatory matters involving technology infrastructure, algorithmic systems and workforce-related economic issues.

Professor Lambrecht brings experience in digital markets, online advertising, consumer behavior and pricing algorithms, areas that have become increasingly important in investigations involving major technology companies. Her research examines how consumers interact with digital platforms and how algorithms shape pricing, targeting and decision-making within online ecosystems.

She has previously served as an expert witness for companies including Amazon and Meta and also worked independently with the UK Competition and Markets Authority on digital market matters.

The hiring reflects broader industry demand for specialists capable of analyzing highly technical digital systems as regulators intensify scrutiny of AI-driven advertising tools, recommendation engines and platform competition. Per a statement, Compass Lexecon is continuing to expand expertise that combines economics, data analysis and operational understanding of digital infrastructure.

Lambrecht’s background includes field experiments and econometric modeling focused on platform behavior, advertising effectiveness and algorithmic market dynamics, capabilities that are increasingly relevant in modern antitrust investigations.

Meanwhile, Professor Notowidigdo adds labor and health economics expertise at a time when regulators are placing greater focus on labor-market competition, healthcare pricing and employer practices.

His research has explored topics including long-term unemployment, the labor-market effects of immigration, public health insurance expansion and the economic impact of hospitalization on workers and consumers.

Those issues have become central to a growing number of disputes involving wage suppression claims, workforce mobility restrictions, healthcare system economics and labor-market concentration.

Compass Lexecon President Daniel Fischel said the additions will strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver customized economic analysis for clients operating in fast-changing regulatory environments.

The firm operates globally with more than 600 professionals across 23 offices and has continued building specialized expertise as antitrust enforcement increasingly intersects with artificial intelligence, platform governance, digital advertising systems and labor economics.

Economic consulting firms across the sector are seeing rising demand for experts who can translate technical systems — including recommendation algorithms, healthcare reimbursement models and digital advertising markets — into economic analyses that can withstand scrutiny from regulators, courts and corporate stakeholders.
