expansion, product development and hiring, per the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the global payments market being estimated at $49 trillion by 2026, much of the issuing layer remains constrained by legacy infrastructure, limiting innovation, speed and the quality of end-user payment experiences,\u201d the release said. \u201cPaymentology is addressing this gap through its highly configurable, cloud-native platform, enabling real-time processing at scale for clients across 68 countries and giving issuers the flexibility to launch, adapt and manage card and digital payment experiences more efficiently across markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The investment comes amid a growth period for Paymentology, which saw new sales increase 117% during its last fiscal year and transaction volumes grow 65%, according to the release. This has been fueled by demand from digital banks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/tag\/embedded-finance\/\">embedded finance<\/a> providers, digital asset-linked card programs and expense management platforms, as well as established banks updating their legacy systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of finance is already here, but legacy infrastructure continues to hold back innovation,\u201d Paymentology CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jeff-parker-504a10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeff Parker<\/a> said in the release. \u201cAt Paymentology, we see a significant opportunity to remove that friction and enable our clients to move at the pace the market demands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/pymnts-intelligence\/\">PYMNTS Intelligence<\/a> found that nearly half of consumers say they are interested in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/news\/payments-innovation\/2026\/agentic-commerce-forces-a-rethink-of-card-infrastructure\/\">agentic commerce<\/a> handling grocery shopping or meal planning, signaling that trust in autonomous purchasing is moving from concept to reality.
