style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBNPL has become the third pillar of how consumers pay alongside debit and credit, and that shift is permanent,\u201d equipifi founder and CEO Bryce Deeney said in the release. \u201cFinancial institutions are best positioned to own this space, and equipifi is building the network that will power them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The equipfi platform enables banks and credit unions to add flexible payment solutions to their digital banking experience, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By doing so, they can enable their customers to access these solutions from an institution that has already earned their trust.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dan-ahrens-bb77a337\">Dan Ahrens<\/a>, managing partner at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leftlane.com\/\">Left Lane Capital<\/a>, which led the funding round, said in the release: \u201cWe believe equipifi is building the defining Credit Unions Are Rethinking Installment Payments<\/a>\u201d found that 49% of credit union members have used BNPL offerings from companies outside their financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report also found that 38% of credit unions said they would likely use BNPL if offered by their financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing BNPL activity in-house can help credit unions better understand their members\u2019 needs, tailor supportand preserve engagement, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In April, equipifi announced that it partnered with credit union service organization (CUSO) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velera.com\/\">Velera<\/a> to enable Velera\u2019s credit union clients to launch their own in-house <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/equipifi-partners-with-velera-to-bring-debit-card-buy-now-pay-later-to-credit-unions-and-their-members-302736450.html\">BNPL<\/a> products through equipfi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In March, equipifi partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cusg.com\/\">CUSG<\/a>, a provider of solutions in human resources (HR) technology, marketing technology and financial empowerment, to allow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/equipifi-and-cusg-announce-strategic-partnership-to-bring-bnpl-capabilities-to-credit-unions-nationwide-302716481.html\">credit unions<\/a> that work with CUSG to offer BNPL solutions within their digital banking app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When North Dakota-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarccu.com\/\">North Star Community Credit Union<\/a> announced that it launched a BNPL program powered by equipifi, the <a
