company will use the new funding to accelerate product development, deepen its presence across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and expand its global go-to-market operations, it said in a Thursday (May 14) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stitch.co\/press\/stitch-raises-25m-series-a-led-by-andreessen-horowitz\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stitch was founded in 2022 and announced a $10 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stitch.co\/press\/stitch-secures-10-million-in-funding-to-simplify-banking-and-payments-innovation\">seed round<\/a> in May 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s platform is designed to replace financial institutions\u2019 fragmented, legacy core systems with a modern system of record that is ready for artificial intelligence, according to the Thursday press release.<\/p>\n<p>While the platform provides a single, cloud-native stack that spans lending, cards, payments and ledgers, it can be adopted module by module so that financial institutions don\u2019t have to replace their existing infrastructure all at once.<\/p>\n<p>Stitch operates across the GCC, Africa and Southeast Asia, and it saw more than $5 billion transacted on its platform in the last six months alone, per the release.<\/p><div id=\"pymnt-49269637\" class=\"pymnt-content pymnt-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-top: 50px;\"><p \r\n<div class=\"dianomi_context\" data-dianomi-context-id=\"4329\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Stitch Founder and CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/sa.linkedin.com\/in\/mohamedoueida?trk=public_post-text\">Mohamed Oueida<\/a> said in the release that financial institutions want to adopt AI but can\u2019t do so on top of fragmented, legacy infrastructure. \u201cWe built Stitch to fix that,\u201d Oueida said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/arampell\">Alex Rampell<\/a>, general partner at <a href=\"https:\/\/a16z.com\/\">Andreessen Horowitz<\/a>, which led the funding round, said in the release: \u201cWhat Stitch is building, a modern, unified system of record, is what makes everything else possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rampell and <a href=\"https:\/\/a16z.com\/author\/james-da-costa\/\">James da Costa<\/a>, partner at Andreessen Horowitz, wrote in a Wednesday (May 13) <a href=\"https:\/\/a16z.com\/announcement\/investing-in-stitch\/\">blog post<\/a> that countries in the Middle East are expanding their financial services ecosystems as they look to grow outside of oil, and Saudi Arabia plans to add hundreds of new financial institutions over the next five years.
